Helping Hands Christmas Hamper Application

Please carefully read the information provided prior to filling out the application.

Helping Hands has a high volume of applicants, therefore, it may take some time before your application is reviewed and approved. We are dependent on donations, grant allocations and volunteer resources. You will receive an email upon approval of your initial application requesting that you fill out a wish list for your family. Email will be the main method of communication so check your email and junk mail often. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee assistance for every applicant and will be capping the initiative at 300 families.

A few important rules regarding hamper pick-ups:

  • Applicants are responsible for picking up hampers and must present valid ID (ex: photo, healthcare card, bill confirming name and address) to confirm their address at the time of pick up. Applicants must live within the City of Grande Prairie.
  • Applicants with disabilities may request a delivery at a later date.
  • If an applicant has been found abusing any form of assistance within the community, including assistance from Helping Hands, their application will be denied.
  • If an applicant is found selling items obtained through the assistance of Helping Hands, future applications will be denied.
  • Any verbal and or physical abuse, including threats towards our volunteers, will result in a lifetime ban. If the issue escalates, RCMP may be contacted.
  • When submitting an application, you must completely fill in all of the required information. If the form is incomplete, your application may be denied.

We are in the process of transitioning to Link2Feed, a program used by food banks across Canada. This new system will help us improve our services, streamline the intake process, and ensure that support is provided more efficiently. To complete your intake information in our new system, we will need a few additional details from you. This information will help us set up your household accurately in Link2Feed and make sure you receive the support you need. Thank you for your patience and support as we make this important transition. We are confident this new system will make the process easier for everyone. If you have questions about Link2Feed, please email: erika@northreach.ca.
